Has anyone ever sold a car on Ebay before? How does it work? Will they take a significant amount of the profits of the sale? I haven’t been getting many solid hits with the 59 on craigslist I thinking about moving it over to Ebay. What does Oppo think?

No, you should sell it to RamblinRover.

If he wants it he can have it I would love to see it stay on Oppo. But I know he has other projects

I will try to investigate feasibility this week. I had a possible line on a job for Moar Moniez, which while not falling out for this quarter means I’m high on the other company’s list for next quarter. Whether or not I intend to pursue that then depends on my success angling for Moar Moniez where I am right now based on that.

How much are you asking and where is it located?

Ohio, and I believe he’s asking a grand-ish. Brakes are currently stuck, tires iffy, and the engine is stuck. I haven’t had a chance to go up there and see where the body may or may not be squishy, but the chromework is pretty straight and the interior’s not terrible. It’s a gem in the rough unless rust has absolutely run away with it, and even then.. it just means more rough to facet off.

Suggestion - maybe contact the crew from bringatrailer? They’ll do the work - just get the car in the best shape possible. Expensive, maybe, but a good shot at selling.
Ebay adds more friction, both ebay & paypal will take fees, then you have to take the pics and manually enter a bunch of info CL doesnt care, and then you should know if there are car shipping companies nearby that will do the shipping, because it’s unlikely you get a local buyer via ebay
Maybe sell it at forums of SoCal low-rider community looking for this style to convert? It would look awesome.

Just do what I did with my 2002! Easiest $150 I've ever made!

What did you do with your 02?

That isn’t a bad idea to look into. I didn’t realize both paypal and eBay took money. Car shipping would be a cost of the seller though not the buyer right? I never considered bring a trailer what would be expensive about bring a trailer do they require money for an ad?

Rambling pretty much summed up the description there is some rust on the floor boards as well

Yeah just let me know what you come up with. I hope it all works out with Moar Moniez. Cash flow is a wonderful thing

I dont know in detail. A few months ago they do a consignment kinda deal, they setup the auction and deal with payment, get their commission, check them out.
Yes, seller pays shipping of course, but you have to get the car into the whatever they use. make sure where you are they are some. In some remote areas, shippers make you go to the larger cities to drop the car.

If it sells for under $2000, it is $60, over $2000 its $125. +$15 for reserve price, +$5 for buy it now option.

Thanks. Wish it was closer. Sounds like it would be a tough, but do-able project. Ohio to New Mexico is a bit far, though.

Give it a shot. Craigslist is getting increasingly hopeless, eBay will at least expose it to a wide audience.

I would think that Craigslist wouldn’t be the best answer for this. You need to find someone who isn’t looking for a car, or even an old car - you need to find someone who’s looking for a 58-60 Lincoln that isn’t done, but has potential. Used to be that the place to find that person was Hemmings or a Lincoln club (yes, I'm old). Guessing that’s probably eBay now - or a Lincoln specific club. Good luck!

I should probably consider posting this on the Lincoln club forum page. I am a member and maybe there it wold receive some bites. Thanks for the advice.
